Journal of the Membership Meetings
The April 14, 2009 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.
Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established. There were 30 members and guests
at the meeting.
Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from last March’s meeting. There was a motion for the
Journal of the Minutes for March to be approved. The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
There were no bills that were announced and passed.
The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.

Announcements:
Late March the DTVA received a Golden Anchor Award by the Navy Thriller for our contribution to
veterans for our website.
Sole Survivor Act-Hubbard Law- when a soldier is the last survivor of a family and has to retire due to
this fact; then the soldier will be entitled to military benefits.
25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Memorial in Eden Park-The DTVA was represented.
Purple Heart Stamp- making the Purple Heart Stamp a forever stamp by the USPS; articles in the
Cincinnati Enquirer and Delhi Press
Presentation:
Presentation of a check for $100 to the Delhi Police Department for the maintenance of the K-9 unit
which the department will receive in October of 2009.
Delhi Police Chief Howarth accepted the check. Also represented by the Police department were Jeff
Braun, Joe Macaluso, Paul Neyer, Rob Pohlnage, and Brian Weldele.
Old Business:
a. Welcome Home Celebration May 16, Saturday, 4-9pm Lunken Airport—The DTVA will have a
display at the event. Sponsored by the VA Medical
b. Sub for the Memorial Ceremony- still trying to book.
c. Speaker for the Memorial Ceremony still trying to book a speaker.
d. Memorial Ceremony will be Sunday, noon, May 24, 2009
e. Ontrup will have coins at the ceremony to sell. 40 poems will be sold at the ceremony. Kelsch motion
to sell and 2nd by 2nd Vice Commander to sell the poems
f. Shuttle bus service for the ceremony: 3 buses will be available
g. T-Shirts on sale from Cintas with our logo.
h. Benches – 2 benches will be built by Josh Veldhaus as part of his Eagle Scout
i. It was noted that Diamond Oaks does projects such as benches.
New Business
a. Election for this June 9. Treasurer Burke and Trustee Morris have indicated they will run again for
their respective positions. Trustee Chisholm has indicated she will not run again for Trustee due to family
obligations. No one has announced their intention to run for Secretary.
Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
Meeting ended at 8:30.
