.Journal of the Membership Meetings

  The April 13, 2010 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by Commander
Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.

  Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Vice
Commander gave the invocation.

  The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established and Trustee Cox was absent. There were
22 members and guests at the meeting.
   
  Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from March’s meeting. There was a motion for the Journal
of the Minutes for March to be approved.  The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
  
There were 2 bills. A bill of $129 to pay the Monthly Shopper for the Chili-Fest Ad in the April’s edition was
motioned by 2nd Vice Commander Kleiner and 2nd by Trustee Brinkdoepke. Motion approved.
                      A bill of $65 to pay for veteran crosses to sell as merchandise was motioned by Treasurer
Burke and 2nd by Secretary Lefler. Motion Approved.

Treasurer Burke gave the treasurer’s report. The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.   

Correspondence and announcements: Dater High School memorabilia day program.

Old Business:
       Chili-Fest- Chairman Trustee Brinkdoepke gave an updated report and asked for volunteers to work the
event. George Robben suggested that he could donate flowers for the tables.
       Hall of Hero Display at the Greenhill’s community center. Commander Osterfeld, Vice Commander
Armstrong, 2nd V. Commander Kleiner, & Secretary Lefler represented the DTVA. Lady from WASP was guest
speaker.
       SR 2010-01 which gives members a choice of plans for membership was motioned to approve by Trustee
Morris and 2nd by 2nd V. Commander Kleiner. SR2010-01 was approved.
       Mike Bender gave a report on the Freedom Isn’t Free Dance at the American Legion Hall for a DTVA
dance on June 26, 2010 from 8pm-12am. Tickets $15/ticket or $25 for a couple. Snacks, Beer, Pop, Pretzels
and Chips. Music with a DJ will be varied. Raffles and Split the Pot.
        
New Business:
       Trustee Morris presented new merchandise to sell Veteran Crosses which can be engraved with a person’
s names.
       Memorial Day Ceremony: Sunday, May 30, 1pm. Guest Speaker: Steve Chabot. A memorial brick will be
placed in the KIA Memorial in honor of TSGT Anthony Campbell who was killed in action in Afghanistan.
       Suggestion to have a corn hole tournament by V.C. Armstrong.
       Suggestion by V.C. Armstrong to have area color guards come together to show colors at a Reds Ball
Game.

DTVA Kroger Fundraising dates for 2010 were announced:
June 5 & 6                9:30-4:30
July 3 & 4                9:30-4:30 grill out        10-4
August        7 & 8           9:30-4:30
September 4 & 5        9:30-4:30 grill out        10-4


       
Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
