Journal of the Meetings

       The August 12, 2008 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.

Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established.  Trustee Chisholm was absent.

There were 16 members and guests present at the meeting.

      There was a motion for the Journal of the Minutes for June to be approved. The motioned was
2nd and passed.
There were no bills that were announced and passed.
     The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.        
      The secretary’s report was read, approved and filed.

Communications: Received a check for $100 from Hamilton Co. Clerk Panioto for our Memorial
Ceremony.  We need to send back a form to the County clerk Panioto on items purchased for our
ceremony.

Issues discussed at Meeting:
       Old Business           
a.        Standing Resolution 2008-001 which put term limits on the Board of Trustees was read for the
second time.  A motion to put Standing Resolution 2008-001 before the membership for a vote was
2nd and passed. A vote on Standing Resolution passed by a 13-0 vote. SR 2008-001 takes effect
September 1, 2008
b.        Mike Bender reported that 41 members out of 71 members that were sent tickets responded.
That $809 was collected up to this date.
c.        A Memorial Gavel made from wood from George Washington’s Mt. Vernon was presented and
will be put into our show cabinet.
d.        Bayley Place Military Display and Lecture will be held Tuesday, August 19, at 6pm.Anyone
wanting to add to the display let Commander Osterfeld know.
e.        Announced that a Delhi Kroger fundraiser will be held on Aug 30, 31, and Sept. 1  10-5. Sign
up sheet was passed around.

NEW BUSINESS:

f.        Flag Etiquette for veterans. Veterans out of uniform can salute the flag.
g.        Report on the engravings of the names. Schott Monument has not replaced Wall 5.
h.        Awaiting information from Delhi Parks Director Sandy Monahan on getting park benches for the
Veterans Memorial Park.

              Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
