Journal of the Membership Meetings

  The August 11, 2009 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.

  Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

  The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established.  Roll call of officers taken: Trustee Cox
was absent. There were 26 members and guests at the meeting. New member Ron Gerhardstien was
introduced.
   
  Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from last July’s meeting. There was a motion for the
Journal of the Minutes for July to be approved.  The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
  There was no bill that was announced and passed.
  The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.

Announcements: Heroes Ride will be held on August 29.
                    Member Mike Kelsch’s daughter passed away. A sympathy card from the DTVA was sent to his
family.

Old Business:
a.        Kroger fundraiser on August 1 and 2. Total for the weekend was $708.
b.        Reminder of a Kroger Grill out on Sept 5 and fundraiser on Sept 6. Sign up sheet to man this event
was passed out.
c.        6th Sense- Biggs to give us a report on our portion of the 6th Sense proceeds.
d.        George Ontrup is trying to get donations from his sources for a new wall. George Ontrup is making
formal presentations to try for $12,000 for a wall.
e.        Liability Insurance papers have been received and Treasurer Burke was to complete and send back.
f.        Split the Pot tickets sales are going well. Trustee Bender reported 47 members have sent in their
tickets. Member Roger Clark organized a ticket sale at the senior center.
g.        Roos unveiling turn out was above expectations with a crowd of 250 people.

New Business
a.        September 17 is the new date for the Delhi Civic Assoc. concert in the park in collaboration with the
Police Nite Out. The DTVA is to have a booth at the event.
b.        Set up a tour of the Delhi Fire House per interest shown back in June when Delhi Fire Chief Zoz
visited.
c.        The Board voted to send $100 donation to the American Fallen Soldier Project and $25 to the church
that Member Ferrell is a member for their Veterans memorial.

Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
Meeting ended at 8:30.
