Journal of the Meetings
The February 10, 2009 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.
Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established. There were 23 members and
guests at the meeting.
Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from last January’s meeting. There was a motion for
the Journal of the Minutes for January to be approved. The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal
was filed.
There were no bills that were announced and passed.
The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.
Correspondence:
A letter inviting us to participate in the Military Display show on December 2009 at the Forest Park
School.
A letter from Department of the Army approving our application for Ceremonial Rifles.
A petition by 2nd Vice Commander Kleiner was sent around to help save the Aircraft Carrier
Forrestal.
Guest Speaker:
George Ontrup presented a military coin presentation.
Old Business:
a. Honor Flight for WWII veterans.
b. Lapel pin—Commander asked if any member who is entitled for a pin needed a lapel pin.
c. Sweetheart Swing Dance will be February 14.
New Business
a. Memorial Day Service- thinking about the program and organization for ceremony.
b. Bayley Place—Vice Commander Armstrong was speaker and spoke about WWII. We would like to
have another event with Bayley Place.
c. Delhi Military Museum- back burner project.
d. Ideas for other fundraisers
e. Purple Heart Forever Stamp an article about the Post Office doing away with this stamp.
Benediction was given by Chaplain Al Duebber.
Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
Meeting ended at 8:30.
