Journal of the Meetings

      The January 8, 2008 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Donald Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.

Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
     The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established. Trustee King, Trustee Chisholm,
Trustee Morris were absent.

There were 27 members and guests present at the meeting.

     A motion for the Journal of the Minutes to be approved and the motioned
was 2nd and passed.
      There were 0 bills that were announced and passed by the Board.
    The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.        
     The secretary’s report was read, approved and filed.

Correspondence: American Red Cross, Delhi Business Association, Committee for Capital Improvements,
Grueden
Issues discussed at Meeting:       
a.        Donald Schnee is the 18th KIA from Delhi and will get a brick for the KIA Memorial
b.        Artillery gun is a 3 inch gun. It is not Howitzer.
c.        Joe Jones son will donate the sandblasting, Delhi Auto Body is donating the paint, Donald Tobler
donated $500 for the cost of the refurbishment
d.        New plans for additional walls for the monument were on display--tentative
e.        Sign for the Veterans’ park-Delhi Trustees approve
f.        An all weather Stand to be installed to protect the veteran names directory
g.        Need ideas for fundraisers
h.        To send postcards to residents who have torn American flags flying.
i.        Park benches for the Veterans’ park
j.        Announced that at the next meeting a speaker to talk about VA Benefits will speak.
k.        1555 names have been submitted

Fielding Lee was the Guest Speaker and told stories about his experiences on a carrier during WWII.
     Motion was made and passed to adjourn.
