Journal of the Meetings
The July 8, 2008 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Secretary Jeff Lefler at 7:30 p.m.
Secretary Lefler welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
There were 17 members and guests present at the meeting.
Secretary Lefler lead the swearing in ceremony of Don Osterfeld, Henry Armstrong, Mike Bender,
& Gary Cox to the positions of Commander, Vice Commander, and Trustees respectfully
Officers took their positions and the roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was
established. 2nd Vice Commander Kleiner and Trustee Chisholm were absent.
There was a motion for the Journal of the Minutes to be approved. The motioned was 2nd
and passed.
There was 1 bill that were announced and passed: Schott Monument of $8555 to engrave the
names on the Wall of Honor.
The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.
The secretary’s report was read, approved and filed.
Issues discussed at Meeting:
Old Business
a. Don Gueterman following through on the cleaning of the Wall of Honor.
b. Kroger fundraiser over the 4th of July raised $1122. Gary and Jerry did the grilling.
c. Gary Cox was following through with the Hamilton County Commissioners on the
application for a grant for the Memorial Day services. .
d. NEW BUSINESS: Trustee Mike Bender organized the Split the Pot by sending out 10
tickets to all members. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Already 24 members have sent in their
money.
e. Announced that a Delhi Kroger fundraiser will be held on Aug 2 & 3 10-5. Sign up sheet
was passed around.
f. Announced on August 19 @ 6pm we will have a lecture and military display at Bayley Place’
s Community Wellness Center. Commander Osterfeld and Vice Commander Armstrong will speak
at the event. We have to be there at 2-3 to set up. Anyone with military items can get with
Commander Osterfeld for the display.
g. Display Case was presented at the meeting to hold our awards and memorabilia.
h. Photographer Jay Hepp is adding pictures to our photo album.
i. Announced that we will be at the Delhi’s Concert in the Park @ Delhi Park @ 6:15pm on
Thursday July 10.
j. Discussed a need to have 2-3 park benches for the Veterans Park
k. Discussed a need for a fundraiser.
l. Standing Resolution 2008-01 for Term Limits for members of our Board of Trustees was
read and discussed. A second reading and vote on the resolution will take place at our next
meeting.
Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
