Journal of the Membership Meetings
The July 14, 2009 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by Commander
Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.
Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Commander Osterfeld administered the oath of office to Jeff Lefler, Bob Burke, and Jerry Morris for the positions
of Secretary, Treasurer and Trustee-4 respectfully.
The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established. Roll call of officers taken: Trustee
Brinkdoepke was absent. There were 25 members and guests at the meeting. New member Dale Beninger was
introduced.
Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from last June’s meeting. There was a motion for the Journal of
the Minutes for June to be approved. The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
There was one bill that was announced and passed. Motion 2009-01 to purchase liability insurance from Murphy
Insurance Company was motioned by Secretary Lefler, 2nd by Vice Commander Armstrong and passed.
The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.
Correspondence: Edward Brown letter of support for the Purple Heart Forever Stamp.

American Fallen Soldiers project will present a portrait of KIA Marine
Cpl Timothy Roos on July 24, 2009 at 11:30pm at the Veteran
Memorial Park. Public is welcome.
Rolling on the River Car Show will be July 26 from 9-4
Bill Ferrell’s church is dedicating a flag pole for the veterans and is
Seeking donations for that.
August 4th Tuesday, Delhi Civic Assoc. is having their Concert in the park along
with Nites Out event.
Old Business:
a. Kroger Grill Out on July 4th and fundraiser on July 5th. Received the largest one day collection of over
$1000. Total for the weekend was $1700. The Delhi Fire Department had their trucks on display at the event.
b. Dance at Legion Hall on Saturday, June 27 8-midnight-Mike Bender reported that we made a profit of $960
for the event. Mike Bender organized this event.
c. That the 6th wall design would be a 5’x5’x8” and a price of $9300 just for the wall- not included was the
engraving of the names or the foundation and its installation. This is an open issue.
d. Have not heard from Biggs on the 6th Sense fundraiser.
e. Split the Pot tickets will be sent out in July by Mike Bender for a drawing to be held at our meeting in
September.
New Business
a. Mike Kelsch took a leave of absence due to his daughter’s illness. A motion was put forth by Vice
Commander Armstrong to place Gary Cox temporarily in charge of the Color Guard. The motion was 2nd by
Secretary Lefler and passed.
b. Trying to schedule the VA unit mobile hospital for one of our events.
Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
Meeting ended at 8:30.
