Journal of the Meetings

      The June 10, 2008 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Donald Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.

Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
     The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established.  Trustee King &Trustee
Morris were absent.

There were 21 members and guests present at the meeting.

     There was a motion for the Journal of the Minutes to be approved. The motioned was 2nd and
passed.
There were 0 bills that were announced or passed by the Board
    The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.        
     The secretary’s report was read, approved and filed.

Correspondence: Delhi Historical Society advisement during the great depression with an article
about Clarence Fischesser a Delhi KIA.

Election: Motion was called and 2nd for close candidacy for position approved.
       Slate of Ballot of candidates with unanimous consent was approved.
      Candidates were elected to their respective positions with terms beginning June 26, 2008.


Issues discussed at Meeting:
      Old Business           
a.        Welcome Home Celebration @ Lunkun Airport- our participation with our military display was
discussed. We had a steady line though out the day.
b.        Memorial Day Service. We had a good turnout of around 200 people
c.        KIA Barrier was installed.
d.        Directory Stand was discussed and that it would soon be installed.
e.        Money is needed for new walls and for new names to be added to the walls.
New Business:         
f.        Concert in the Park: we will have a booth at the concert. Concert is June 19, 7-9:30
g.        Visiting members’ old posts.
h.        Member Dan Hensler passed away with a moment of silence.
i.        Fund Raise: Split the Pot by selling set of tickets. Drawing will be at our September 9, 2008
meeting. There was a motion to go forward with this and the motion was 2nd and passed.
j.        Checking into a getting a grant from a veterans organization that has to spend the money or
loose it. We are checking into applying to get some money from them.
k.        Hamilton County Commissioners give money to communities for their Memorial Services. We
will check into getting money for our Memorial Service.

Motion was made and 2nd and then approved to give the Commander the discretion to go ahead
with the selection of the KIA Chain barrier, Veteran name directory stand, and Gun Placard.

             Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
