.Journal of the Membership Meetings

  The June 8, 2010 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by Commander
Armstrong at 7:30 p.m.

  Commander Armstrong welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Trustee Cox gave the invocation.

  The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established. There were 32 members and guests at
the meeting.
   
  Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from May’s meeting. There was a motion for the Journal of
the Minutes for May to be approved.  The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
  
There were 0 bills.

Treasurer Burke gave the treasurer’s report. The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.   

Correspondence and announcements: Thank you from the Judge Patrick Dinkelacker on our Memorial Day
Ceremony.

Old Business:
       Election: Don Osterfeld, Howard Brinkdoepke, Lenny Kleiner, Mike Bender and Joe Jones were elected
Commander, Vice Commander, 2nd Vice Commander, Trustee-1 and Trustee-2. Due to Trustee Brinkdoepke
being elected to Vice Commander and there fore position Trustee-3 becoming vacant on June 26; resolution
2010-12 approving Ken Jefferson to finish the unexpired term of Trustee-3.
       Memorial Day Ceremony: estimated crowd 100-110. Presented the Anthony Campbell Jr family with a KIA
brick in the KIA Memorial. Trustee Cox motion to give $50 of our Split the Pot money for a gas card for the Bus
Driver for the ceremony. Secretary Lefler 2nd and motion approved.
       Freedom Isn’t Free Dance-DTVA dance on June 26, 2010 from 8pm-12am. Tickets $15/ticket or $25 for a
couple. Snacks, Beer, Pop, Pretzels and Chips. Music with a DJ will be varied.
       Eagle T-Shirts came in and are $9 for members and $15 for general public.
       New Business:
       The DTVA Medal of Honor and proclamation was given to Member Don Osterfeld.
       Member Don Osterfeld gave a speech and presented all present and past members of the Board a medal.
       Wendy’s promotion on Thursday, June 24 from 4pm-8pm will give 15% of all sales at the Delhi, Cheviot, &
Glenway locations to us.
       Kroger fundraiser on June 5 & 6 made $597
       Flag retirement ceremony being held at St. Dominic at 12:30pm on 6/13/2010.
       Trustee Mike Bender said our money should be collected for the DTVA for other projects.
Trustee Gary Cox: Vietnam Veteran and Korean Memorial with the Masonic Lodge. Also recollected that on
June 7, 1969 a rocket attack on the DaNang Airbase in Vietnam killed Clifford Lefler Jr.
       2nd Vice Commander mentioned that we need summer hats for sale.
       Member Dave Swenson: Mentioned that the Korean War began and this country needs to remember and
that 800 left behind and are unaccounted.
