Journal of the Membership Meetings
The May 12, 2009 meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by Commander
Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.
Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established. There were 20 members and guests at the
meeting. Roll call of officers taken: Treasurer Burke and Trustee Chisholm were absent.
Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from last April’s meeting. There was a motion for the Journal of
the Minutes for March to be approved. The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
There were no bills that were announced and passed.
The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.
Correspondence:
Thank you letter from Delhi Police Chief Howarth for our $100 donation to the K-9 unit of the Delhi Police.
Memorial Day Grant registration
Presentations:
Representatives, Kimberly Yerkes and Marty Weldicschofer from Llanfair Retirement Community about the
Llanfair community. Discounts are available for veterans.
Member Dave Swenson gave a presentation on the History of the Liberty Bell.
Old Business:
a. Welcome Home Celebration May 16, Saturday, 4-9pm Lunken Airport—The DTVA will have a display at the
event. Sponsored by the VA Medical
b. Dater High School Friday, May 22, 8:45am auditorium.
c. Speaker for the Memorial Ceremony still trying to book a speaker.
d. Memorial Ceremony will be Sunday, noon, May 24, 2009
e. Park Benches – to make sure the Eagle Scout project pays for the benches.
f. Update on the names to be engraved on the wall.
New Business
a. DTVA received plaques from the VA Medical Center for last year’s display.
b. Motion to replenish the petty cash fund for $100. Trustee Cox motioned and Mike Kelsch seconded. Motion
passed
c. Mike Bender gave update on the dance at the Legion Hall. Saturday, June 27 tickets are $15 per person for
beer, soda pop, pretzels, chips, raffles, split the pots. Music by BJ
Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
Meeting ended at 8:30.
