Journal of the Membership Meetings

  The September 8, 2009
meeting of the Delhi Township Veterans Association was called to order by
Commander Osterfeld at 7:30 p.m.

  Commander Osterfeld welcomed all present and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Chaplain Al Duebber gave the invocation.

  The roll call of the officers was held and a quorum was established.  Roll call of officers taken: and all were
present. There were 37 members and guests at the meeting.
   
  Secretary Lefler read the Journal of the Minutes from last August's meeting. There was a motion for the
Journal of the Minutes for August to be approved.  The motion was 2nd and passed. The Journal was filed.
  There was no bill that was announced and passed.
  The treasurer’s report was read, approved and filed for audit.   

Presentation to Christina Oswald of framed pictures of her singing the National Anthem at the Roos Portrait
unveiling. Also present was her parents and sister.

Announcements:
o        Our October 13 meeting will be held at the Delhi Firehouse on Neeb Road for a Firehouse Tour.
o        Member George Robben announced the Golf Outing for Post 10380. He had sign up sheets for anyone
interested.                     

Old Business:
a.        Kroger Labor Day Weekend fundraiser took in over $1100.
b.        6th Sense- Biggs to give us a report on our portion of the 6th Sense proceeds.
c.        We now have Liability Insurance.  
d.        Split the Pot winner is Chris Hahn who won $649. 59 members sent back their tickets.
e.        On September 17 the DTVA will have a booth at the Concert in the Park which also coincides with the
Police Nites Out.
New Business
a.        Member Dick Hafner went into the hospital on 9/7. He is 87 years old.
b.        Member Al Duebber reported that the K-9 unit will be able to sniff for drugs.
c.        February 13 we will be in collaboration with the Delhi Business Association for the Sweetheart Swing
Dance.
d.        Sunday, November 8 will be our Veterans Day Celebration
e.        Kroger will be donating proceeds for the “Jean Day” to us.
f.        DTVA purchased a new grill at Kroger for 25% of cost for $49.

Motion was made and 2nd and passed to adjourn.
Meeting ended at 8:30.
